56 Olds Super 88 choke.

My choke is not engaging when I press accelerator to the floor at start up. It worked fine before the carb rebuild. Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening?

My guess would be the spring is not installed properly, and thus does not move the butterfly arm/lever when expanded from the heat of the exhaust?
