Wayal- little known fact but a 54 and 55 are almost identical as far as sheetmetal, so what works on one will surely work on the other.

Shame that 55 caught Ohio tinworms after all that time in California. But, in the 80s it was just an old car.

Well some of the sheet metal is the same, most of the front is different,Fenders and hood is different, grill and bumper not the same, Just saying so some one dosn't buy parts off a 54 and find out the hard way that they don't fit or look wrong on their 55...Tedd

The 54 was actually going to be the new 55 but Olds released it a year early. I really like the headlights on the 55. The side trim is very different on the two years also.

Been watching it since he started on it. He is doing a great job. If you notice the guy with an avatar with the red 40 Ford 2dr std has a username very similar to mine.

No that was me. I thought I was responding to my Hydramatic Post and as soon as I hit “Submit” I realized it was on this thread. I tried to delete it but only could edit it and the forum demanded at least one character in my edit so it timed out and I gave up.

sorry for the confusion

Sad to read all thru that story just to read that the original poster bailed on it.
Anyone know where it ended up?

Threads "go cold" on the Hamb even more so than on this site, always leaves you wondering- hopefully poster didn't die.... OH I just saw he bailed on it, yeah that's always puzzling too, after so much great enthusiastic work and effort? But pretty common.. Us humans are so strange, huh??
