Very nice. My dad bought one new and loved that truck even though I was only 9 years old. Like a lot of us, I started at a young age loving cars and trucks. Enjoy your new ride.

Looking at it, didn’t buy it yet!
checked it out last night
the motor is alittle hot rodded 40 over roller rockers etc..
Prof built C6 tranny. But on this old trucks they put the Id tag on the glove box door, and it’s missing??
now the guy has the truck registered. And realized the tag was missing when I went to do the purchase.
so now he remembers building it for 5 years that he never ordered the new tag. Should this be a problem if I buy it and wait 2 weeks for the tag?

I would not buy it without a vin tag.

You can find the vin # on the top of the right frame rail in front of the front axle. Check out Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum, it's really great for these old trucks. There is a 48-56 section. You can get new vin plates made up. Whether that is OK or all wrong is your call I guess. You can imagine a lot of those plates came up missing if they were on the glove box.

V i n

I purchased a 1948 coupe
IT CAME WITH A "CLEAN" TITLE

seems the serial number on the title paperwork was the model / body number off the cowl
not the actual vin

buyer beware
good luck

Are you talking Vin tag, or license tags? If it is the vin, I would be care full, check with your DMV, and see what they say will happen. If it the license tag. in Cal there will be a penalty, unless there is a NON OP on it.
