Yesterday, not my birthday, my cars. It’s a Fremont build 1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. Cowl date code is 06D. I was lucky enough to to find a build sheet with my car with the actual build day 06-25. I couldn’t afford a real w30 convertible and if I could I wouldn’t be able to drive it so I am building my own version. I guess it’s a restomod tribute more then a clone. I just pulled the hood and fenders to replace the door hinges. While I had it apart I installed some repro red inner fenders, aligned the doors and fenders with new hardware, installed new battery cables and a lot more odds and ends that needed to be cleaned up, painted, new hardware or adjusted. I should get the hood, grille and bumper back on this weekend. Next step will be finishing up and aligning the power window setup I swapped in.

Very Nice Car! That reminds me of this story about build dates/ birthdays. I was born in 1956. Few years ago I bought a 56 f 100 (I know- I also have a 71 Cutlass) that was missing the vin plate. Those trucks have a code that signify when the truck was built. So I put in the code for August - idea being I could say my truck was born in August 56 like I was!! Well that's what I did, but then found if truck was made in August 56 it would be a 57 because It would have been built after change over!! D'OH! Well now I guess according to plate it was built in August of 55, a early 56!.
