Yea, got that flyer too, and tempting, but already have enough oil around here to flood the basement. Normally use syn in most of my cars, with my daily late model Pontiac currently using O'Reilly's(Omni) syn & filter. Even that whole deal was only $20 bucks on special. Pretty much the same stuff as most name brands, but doesn't meet the higher GM spec, Mobil One, my late model Vette requires.

Not in dallas either - it is 20 with same filter but valvoline oil.
Wow - 5 bucks... I would be stocking up, too!
Maybe it is on sale in Chicago because it is cold now and noone wants to be changing oil now?

You might want to recheck that. Maybe their website didn't update when I posted it, but it's there now.

I verified Dallas zip code and your zip code are showing the sale for what I posted using that link.

Or this one. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/home.oap

Correctomundo! I called the store, they said the Peak deal is good 'til the 13th. AND they have a Valvoline Nextgen deal for $19.99 (or 95 or something) with a 100% mail in rebate which makes it FREE. The store is about 25 minutes away, but with these prices it is worth the drive.
Thanks,
Mike

I think I have turned into an oil and oil filter snob these days, is that oil and no brand filter even safe to use in an old flat tappet car without buying another $10-15 dollars worth of additives??

Dude you are right - thanks! Will stop in on Monday to see if any oil is even left...
Looks like you have your choice in filters up to 5.29.

I am the same way with the filter, those won't get used.
I'm strictly a Purolator or WIX filter guy.

But you can't go wrong with $5 for 5 quarts of oil for your daily driver.

Wow, cool. They updated my ad too. I only use WIX or Napa Gold (which is a relabeled WIX) filters.

I guess I can toss the filter the oil comes with and use the $5 gift card toward to cost of a WIX filter.

The only problem I am having now is bringing myself to use the Peak oil. I am pretty devoted to my Shell Rotella T in both the truck and the Olds.

Advance Auto, also runs pretty good monthly oil change specials, but never seen a $10 - $5 rebate one. Over the holidays got a 5qt jug of Castrol Edge syn w/K&N filter for $30 bucks. They also sent me a football and $7 check. Always pays keeping an eye out. Haven't seen it in awhile, but used to run 2 for 1 specials on top name syn oils, like Valvoline and Quaker State.

Just picked up 4 jugs of 10-30 for the Caddy. They have 10-30 and 5-30 only.
At 10 bucks a jug, thats pretty good!

Well, I misunderstood the fineprint! It has to be a microguard, just different sizes have different prices.
I was surprised to see the one designated for my Caddy as being an inch shorter than the delco one! I got a couple for the Ford - those look to be the same size.
Oh - the guys there said microguard is made by - uh... fram.
May not even use em...
