No, I didnt buy one or get one from Santa...sort of...

Months ago while in the car (the modern one with XM radio) the wife was on prime country and a song came on by Kathy Mattea called '455 rocket' (about I assume a large 98/regency). Owning a rather large record store within our antique store I sorted the country and alas, 1500 country albums, 3 from Mizz Mattea and not the song.

Well from amazon, for christmas, my wife got me the greatest hits, and next to last song - 455 rocket.

Not sure I will like the rest of the album as I am not the biggest country fan...but I got it.

how come it aint the theme song here?

Cool song, even if that '59 model in the video wouldn't have had a 455 under the hood from the factory. I don't know where the '455' badging on the fender came from because I'm not aware that Oldsmobile ever advertised their engines in that manner. That was more of a Chevy/Pontiac thing.

 

Yeah while we are it why not the song detroit 442 as well. Are the any others?

 

had a low power weekend to spend some listening time (got a new stylus for the turntable so I tested it on some records first) and loaded up my xmas cds. the whole mattea hits cd aint bad - and Im not a strict country fan....
