455 Motor

Am looking at a 455 from a 69 toronado with c heads. What I need to know if the casting numbers are correct for that year. Thanks in advance for your responses.

That block casting was used from 1968-1972. The C heads were used from 1967-1969. You need to check the VIN derivative stamp on the block. The second character is the year ("9" for 1969). The third character is the assembly plant (all Toros were built in Lansing - so this would need to be an "M"). The fourth character must be at least a "5" for a Toro motor.
