455 Dipstick

I am having a problem figuring out how to insert a new dipstick on my newly rebuilt 455. The dipstick has two sets of rings that act as a gasket inside the dipstick tube hole. Is there a special tool to press this dipstick in? I was thinking about using heat and a small crows foot with an extention I can attach to tap on. any sugestions?

Thanks

The official Kent Moore tool is a length of steel tubing with an ID that just slips over the dipstick tube and bears up against the shoulder. 180 degrees of the tool is cut away for about 6-7 inches so it can fit onto the dipstick tube. You hammer on the top.

I've used the "open end wrench" method as well as the "long flat blade screwdriver" method and ruined more than one dipstick tube as a result.

I'm not a fan of sanding down the beads and gluing the tube into the block.

I use 2 small hose clamps around the upper part of the base and beat on the big clamp bosses with a long screwdriver.

Has anyone ever put the dipstick in the freezer first?

I have put it in the freezer, than I put a screw or small bolt, in the oppening, and tap it in.
