“442” glove box upgrade

So finally decided the dingy looking numerals on my 71 442 glove box needed replacing, went with in-line tube, they shipped quick and for 20 bucks it was a nice simple project.

Removing the glove box door was easy as pie, the trick was getting the speed nuts to sit properly in my driver to be installed. They kept slipping down into it - I packed a little duck tape so they would sit near the tip and violα. Flipped over the glove box and in they went. Also was able to align door so it fits perfectly.

A fun easy and satisfying 20 minute project 👍

That’s quite an improvement! But for some reason the repops never had the correct color of the number 2. The 2 should be a different shade of orange than the 4 not yellow.

I was curious about the colors, this is the parts place option - does it look more correct?

And here is inline tube. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the actual repop item colors match their photos 🤔

Looks better in the inline photo. The one you have will be ok, just don’t over think it.

The "442" numbers are only used on '72 convertibles....lol

Thanks guys I’m not gonna sweat it - just enjoy it, although it’s hot out and I am sweating the weather!

Harry that’s a good one - the seller telling you that reminds me of other stupid remarks, like Al Gore thinking he invented the Internet - and Alexander Haig telling us “I’m in control here”
