4 speed battery cable tubes??? 1970-72
I thought I knew this but now not so sure Can someone post a picture of a factory 455 battery cable tube and bracket for a 455 engine? Also, were there ever any variations to this bracket for 70-72?
Any experts on this?

The one on the left in both pictures is from a 70 350 and the one on the right is from a 70 455. I thought there was another style 455 tube. If so I don't know what it looks like. I am going to list these in another thread.

This thread got my curiosity up. I did some research and came up with the following.
In the 70 Assembly manual 6-1 pg 112 there is an illustration of the battery tubes for the manual trans cars. In the top left is the 350 A body set up, lower left shows the 455 A body set up. The lower right shows the set up for manual trans "big" cars. If you notice the 350 and big cars use the same clamp (406640). The clamp is turned upside down compared to the 350 A body. All three use the same tube (400230).
As pictured I think one is correct for a 350 manual trans Cutlass and the other for a manual trans "big" car.

Eric, I went through this back in 2013 when I was building the 72. I did a M/T conversion on it, and bought my tube Assy. from Fusick. At the time they only listed one part number for both 350 or 455. When I tried to install it on my 455, it simply would not fit - I think it was hitting the booster. I checked the PIM, and it listed two different part numbers for small and big block cars and the illustration for the SBO part matched the repo. I actually converted the repo over to what I needed by drilling out the spot rivets, reorienting the bracket and screwing the two metal parts back together (the tube itself is the same for either 350 or 455). I called Fusick about it, and they were understanding but told me they had never heard about this problem before. Interestingly, they now offer both a SBO and BBO version.
