350 push rod selection

have a 69 350 , stock rockers. I just had 1 exaust push rod snap, and another that broke the rocker arm. The push rods i removed( and given to me by engine builder 14 years ago) were a comp cams 7842-16 5/16 x 8.234 long. Were they the correct length for that motor? Im currently seeing listings for a 5/16 x 8.280 length. .046 longer. Any ideas which length?

You need to measure the length that is needed for your particular engine.
Any machine work done to the heads or block deck can result in changes to the factory dimensions. Measuring with an adjustable push rod is the only way to know for certain what length is needed for YOUR particular engine.
