25 cars lagging behind the collector market for spring 2020

For What It's Worth +-
How can they compare a 442 , Road Runners, & Buick GS popularity & value to say ... a Studebaker ? (It must be me) Either way awfully broad spread of cars (?) whatever -

The Hagerty Vehicle Rating takes auction and private sales results, insurance quoting activity, and the number of new policies purchased into consideration to sort hundreds of car models and compare them to the collector car market as a whole. Our valuation team then assigns each car a score from 1–100, with a 50 denoting a model that’s perfectly following the overall market trend. Popular cars that are gaining interest and value will score higher, while those with flagging interest or sale prices will score lower. A vehicle’s position on the list isn’t always a sign of future collectability; it’s more of a pulse check on the current market.

Perfectly clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is "concours."

But as we have said before price depends on where in the country you are and what someone is willing to pay.

I bought my '71 Supreme 'Vert out of Indiana 7 years ago for $15 grand. Two days after a I received it from the shippers, here in Maryland, I turned down a serious offer of $18.5. A few months later at a show (that I had not even entered, just drove her to), I turned down $20,000. I was called crazy for not selling, but my wife understood. I had been looking for an Olds to restore for the past 5 years and had just started tinkering with her.

Back to topic. I really don't put much stock in Hagerty. We've all seen it at auctions. You get 2 guys that want the same car and the price can go through the roof. Other auctions, no ones bidding and great cars go for next to nothing.

Any car is only worth what someone is willing to stroke a check for. Guides are base on public sales info, some of those cars may only have 1 or 2 sell in a year while others 20+. I don't think people have been rushing out to buy some of those cars listed above.

I was recently at an all British car show [with a British friend]

All the Triumphs were at the bottom of the barrel price wise

Just out of curiosity, what does "bottom of the barrel" mean? I know that a restored tr4 or tr6 can bring 20-25 up here.
