2016 MCACN, Who is going?
http://www.mcacn.com/
I thought there was a new thread about this show but can't find it. Is anyone going to this show from here? I will be at the barn find and hidden gem section with the Jetfire. I have a hard time remember user names verses real names or any names at all so you may have to explain who you are if you visit me at the Jetfire.
I am pulling the car on an open trailer this year so I hope the weather is ok for at least the trip up...

My wife and I will be there all weekend, helping with the Studebaker display. I'll probably be wearing a white Avanti button up shirt. I missed meeting up with you (though I saw the '70) last time, I have a note pad on my phone of "things to do and see", so I can remember to stop by and say "hi". Looking forward to seeing the Jetfire!

A friend and I are flying in Friday morning and playing tourist in the city all day. We'll be heading back to Rosemont early Friday evening. Steve Minore already told me he'll be introducing me to many of you that I've known through CO and ROP for many years. I'm looking forward to finally meeting you all in person!

Would love to go and bring one my latest finds, a 71 Cutlass S with 41k original miles! If I hadn't just done the long 10 day trip to SEMA, I would have had time to detail the car up and the money to make the trip but just not gonna happen! Wonder what classification it would be under? Barn finds and hidden gems or is there a place specifically for Survivors?

I will be there to see this. How could I not be there??? Reading Diego's book on the flight up. It will be great to meet some more members. And really excited to see some I already know too.
Of course I'm looking forward to seeing *the car* there. Sorry, I'll have tunnel vision for a bit...but I'm also looking forward to seeing everyone else's too. I have a friend of mine who is really into Corvettes and he sounded real disappointed that he couldn't go with me.
I'm just loving the fact that this is going to be in a climate controlled environment, because that heat in TN this year almost killed me! See you all soon!!!

Here now. I was moving the extra Jetfire engine in and a guy from Hot Rod Magazine was snapping lots of pictures. After I got the engine to the car he had me stand by it and take some pictures. He was excited to see the Turbo Rocket Engine....

If you are signing autographs, just make sure you charge $10.
If I had to pick a part of that car I love, it is the little poison reservoir bottle...more so than the turbo itself. Don't know why I like that so much but it is cool.

I wish I had the 1 gallon jug that I was suppose to get with the car.

I wanted to attend but I am slammed completing end of year projects at work.
Also wanted to visit with a friend in the Chicago area that was recently diagnosed with cancer. I will make time for him but it won't be this weekend.
Have a good time, take lots of pics. to share and don't drool on the cars!
I think Joe mentioned drinks were on him!

Had an awesome time. Got to meet Fred, Eric, Chris Dreiling for the first time, and was able to chat with Paul, Patton, Joe, Steve Minore, Diego and tons of other friends...
Had a blast. MCACN is one of the best weekends for a car enthusiast you can experience.

Same here Luke. An awesome show - the cars and the CO'ers.
Spent at least 90 minutes going all over that 71 W30 survivor. Another confirmed bare steel lift hook. On it I also saw my first 410410 air dam reinforcement on a car "in the wild"

I got to do most of my looking Friday during setup but did not get to see everything. There were several Oldsmobiles there but I only got to see about half of them. I was around our car most of the time and only seen around half of the overall show. Here are a couple pictures I was able to get.

I spotted this engine from about 30 foot away. We were walking by some Corvettes in a circle with this engine in the middle of them during setup. After we had gotten a good ways past them it had hit me that I seen Jetfire turbos. I turned around and looked closer and sure enough.... This aluminum test engine was from Cerv 1, Some kind of testing car for Chevy. I ask them if they knew what the turbos were from and they said they had no idea and would like to figure it out. I told them they were from a 63 Jetfire and I don't think they believed me. They said the setup was older than 63 and from the 50's. I told them the turbos were not even made in this design till late Jetfire testing in mid 61 and showed them where the date codes were hiding on them. Both turbos were dated 6-25-63 so they very likely got them at the same time and place. Later the owner of the engine found me and said the engine was from Cerv 1 in the late 50's and the turbos were likely a later experiment. I thought it was cool to see Chevy using Oldsmobile parts for experimenting.

Nice to see/meet some of ya, including Luke (always a pleasure.....stay tuned for Chimichurri!), Steve (ditto!), Mr. Turbo Jetfire, Fred, and Bill K. Did I forget anyone?
It's truly a magical show. If this was your first time, I know your jaw dropped - imagine the same thing every friggin' year!

I ended up not being able to make the trip last year, but I plan on going this year too. As with Eric, I'll have tunnel vision on the Oldsmobiles.
Still have my alerts set on numerous websites for that H/O VIN by the way. Nothing yet. Not giving up.
