2015 OCA Nationals

Well I'm burned out more ways than one since I was In my swap space for most of the week. Had the good fortune to meet many of the major and minor players in the Olds community. Unfortunately by 5:00 pm I was a zombie so not much in the way of pics.
Joe is a standup guy but that was a given. Patton, well if you don't know of him you should. Eric is very knowledgeable and detailed. I have forgotten a lot of names but that happens with all of the people I have met. Sold lots in my swapspace bought nothing and that was the plan.
I have pics from Thursday night and if you were there and object to you pic on the net please let me know before I post the pics.
Congrats to the class winners please post a pic of your car and trophy thanks.
Please add you experience or observation from the week.

Paul

I spent little time looking at the cars. I wanted to look at them and kept putting it off to meet more people and talk. I had the best time I ever had at a National event still. I took 3 parts and sold them all. I picked up an NOS 62 Cutlass front fender, a couple boxes of Jetfire turbo parts and a couple 8 track players. My wife and I are already excited for next year. We will have the Jetfire next year.

Yep, I was med. to well done after Thursday cleanup and detail of the car and on the show field judging for 5 hours! Shorted one so we went with three people on fifteen to judge.

I was hit up twice, once for rejoining the homecoming staff. Job offer: swap area chairman. answer: anything but, I don't want to hear about it after knowing Brett, Scott and Paul that I would put them in a prime or requested spot.

Also was approached to refire the Alero chapter which I said yes to.

When the time comes I will post up of some of the accolades when they arrive!

I hope everyone made it home in one piece?

Regards,

Pat

Just want to thank all that were involved with putting on the show. You did a great job. As always it is good to see old friends and put a face with people here on CO. I have some pictures/video I will post later.

It was great to see old friends and meet new. This was the best Nationals Ive been to in many years. My son Allan and I both took Best of Class in our respective classes,Al with his Green 68 F85 and I with my Red 69 442 Post coupe. My Friend and customer Ron Cooksey took a 1st with his Black 69 F85 W31. I cant post pics on here or I would.

Forget the cars (for just a moment) - it was great getting to meet all of you! Patton and I spent a good part of the trip home together raving about how well operationally the event went, but also, for me, how welcome all the CO members made me feel. Thank you all!

P.S. Paul, you are an excellent "ambassador" and need to be involved at the National level again.

It is nice to hear what people thought about the show. I suspect I met quite a few of you, as I was working the parking lot where arrivals entered and were given their assigned parking space number.

A great show and a good time had by all. The WI Chapter of the OCA did well and is deserving of kudos!

I agree, it was one of the few things OCA was in charge of and we had to fight tooth and nail to get any info out of them so we could tell the people that asked. They say they want to promote it but no one did

You should been part of the judging. No contact numbers handed out or listed for the event head judge or Mike Pruitt. No copies of rules for reference for each team leader and I do have a smart phone but not everybody does. And don't get me started with Mike's reading of the judges hand book/rules no PA system and he does not project his voice with authority!

Signage was terrible until you get to the tent.

Paul, I had a great time this year and enjoyed talking with you at your booth. Henry does great work and when the Cdn. dollar comes back to par I'm in on a few of his pieces of history he builds.
I had my Jaswest table set up over by Everett Horton and talked with many people who had purchased my panels and many more looking to buy.
I have already planned out next years trip and maybe get all my children to come with me to Tenn.

Did anyone take photos that they can post?
I was so busy with cars, car problems, cleaning, detailing, beer, family and parts shopping that I forgot to take a single photo.

Congrats to all the "winners".

I was really impressed with the job the Wisc. Club did in hosting. You da best !!!!!!!

Heard some complains about the heat. Huh.....???? It was 105*-110* and 100% humidity in Florida, now that is HEAT...........I really enjoyed the nice low humidity and cool nights for sleeping!

Paul, glad to have lunch with you to "test out" Chammps before Thursday nights get together. Great food. That Vietnamese style smoked pulled pork sandwich with Asian coleslaw was delicious!

Thursday nights dinner was absolutely GREAT, with 40 really nice people attending!

Did pretty good in selling NOS , used, and restored parts in the swap meet area. Could have brought more, but then I would have had to leave the F85 W31 at home. First time just "Show Only" so a lot less pressure. Plus I really needed to devote all my time to selling parts to pay for my trip up north for the next 3 months.

See you all in Tenn.

I heard, again heard that they set aside 200 rooms were already booked before I left Saturday noonish.

Also add me to the list of C.O. Trophy winners: 1st place class 20K senior class

Also received a text from Great Lakes zone rep. Ken Nicholas on Sunday congrats on B.O.C. 20K Again, I have not heard form the Wisconsin people to verify this.
