2014 Nationals

My name is Mike Lawrence. I am the web master for WWW.cincyoldsclub.us . I want to make sure that everyone is aware that the Oldsmobile Club of America(OCA) 2014 National meet is being hosted by the Greater Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky Chapter in East Gate Ohio. If you go to the chapter site (that's it above) all the info is there. I hope to see everyone there to join in the fun. the show is July 30th thru Aug 3rd. If you have any questions ask here or email me on the website. Thank you.

I believe that Everett is responsible for the swap meet portion as it is run by the national club.

Thanks for the heads up! Already booked my hotel in the next town to the east, $25 cheaper than the host hotel which is already booked, and $45 less the secondary hotel. I will register in couple of months!

Juju and I plan on trying out the A/C (once again) in the Silver Bullet, caravanning up with several others from the Great State. Look forward to seeing/meeting/greeting/having a fine time, once again.

Yes to all, I will be bringing something Olds on four wheels, judging some class or classes? and yes the very intelligent but inexperienced step son will be riding shot gun. We should be in town on Thursday around noon ish?

What we need to do is to get anyone willing from this forum that is coming to this event to meet and press the flesh and put a face to the C.O. handle!

Maybe something of the sort of supper one night or maybe 8 P.M. meeting at the host hotel lobby? Only thing bad about supper is that will be hit with an 18-21%
automatic tip with a crowd larger than 8!

Depends on the service! I have been known to leave as much as 50% for someone who bust their butt! Case in point, last summer I was at a dealer meeting and this decent looking gal around 30 was taking care of the bar and waiting tables of around about ten IIRC by herself and I gave her a 50% tip and she personally thanked me for it! And I thanked her for busting her butt!

Also by the same token if I get crappy service and bad attitude you damn skippy that persons going to get a tip to match!

I will stand by this statement! I don't agree with a "forced tip" 15% is customary.
9 out of 10 will get that amount.

Pat

Pat x10 on both your posts, if a waitperson doesn't 'know', whether through ignorance or impudence, its a mutually inclusive circle and the customer needs to let them know. I have MANY times dealt with those situations directly to the person when they hand me the bill...had to ask a few more than once, 'did you read what you wrote on here...? and just get a blank stare as my answer, So then its manager time. Most of my friends & co-workers enjoy dining with me for the every enjoyable floor shows.

And I heartily agree on a dinner & drinks again, the time Greg & Linda and you & Chris (Sp?) and Bob and I spent that evening was why I enjoy our hobby. Good people... period. Count me in buddy.

I am counting on all of us getting together one evening again! Like you said just great to get to know people and talk instead of typing on a keyboard! I will touch base with the Michigan gang when the time gets closer!

Pat, I like the idea of meeting with other CO members as well. I'd be interested in meeting for dinner or something.
