2014 N. Texas Zone show - April 25-27th
I just finished reading the NTOC monthly news letter. The rumors are true, next years Zone Show will be held here in Mayberry (Granbury). You guys are in for a treat as Granbury is a great venue for the show. The hotel overlooks the lake and the Town Square is just up the street. It also looks like a fun schedule of events. I included a link below to the news letter.

Hey, Oldcutlass (Eric, I think): Thanks for the plug. Nice hotel, nice person to deal with. I'm wondering, are there any 1/8 mile strips close to y'all that might be open on the Saturday night for those that like to go fast??? Not TMS/or the/Motorplex. Just a thought. Love for the racers to show up in their fast Oldsmobile's. Saw a later model Cutlass (90's) at the OCA Nationals in Springfield that was awesome looking!

Sorry no drag strips close to here. There is a guy that just opened a chasis dyno shop that I think we can work out a dyno night however. Cresson has a road course up the road, but Oldsmobiles aren't really known for road rallying.

Just a small update on the zone show, I'd like to add that Granbury is also going to host the Sweethearts and Orphans show. This show is for cars that have lost their parent manufacturers Feb 21-23. Hopefully see some of you there also.

Well after spending the past 2 weeks repairing my car, new cam and lifters, new flex plate, welded and repaired cracked block (starter mounting ear). Now all I have to do is clean it up and get ready.
Just a reminder, this weekend is the Sweethearts and Orphans Show here in Granbury, registration from 9:30-1:30 show ends at 3:00. It's open to all makes that are not manufactured anymore. See link below:

Also it's getting close to the NTOC Zone Show

We'll be there with the Silver Bullet, and Juju may be taking her Lovey Dovey, so we'll have some wheels while the SB is on display! Hope to see/meet all that can attend, both this weekend, and the Zone Show in April. Eric, thanks for the plugs, by the way!

I will be at the Sweethearts and Orphans show, I believe Keith will be there with his vert also. Look forward to meeting you Rob and seeing Aaron and the Mrs + plus anyone else who shows up. The weather will be great, in the 70's.

The weather today was spectacular, as well as the cars at the Sweethearts and Orphans show. I wish I had brought my camera. Met up with Aaron, Mike, Sickyolds, and met txrob779 who is currently trying to get his 66 going. There were also 2 other 67's both 442's and super nice. For once the Oldsmobiles were well represented with 8. It was a good time for all.
Looking forward to the Zone Show in April.

Newbie here and never participated in a car club event or a car show. I read the NTOC newsletter and understand the basic itinerary of the April event but have a couple of questions. Is there a secure area for overnite parking? How many miles will the 2 hour cruise cover? Do most bring an enclosed trailer for security and/or transport? Thanks for any info and education!

Lonestar, a lot of the folks actually drive their cars to the hotel, some trailer. The lot is secure, and you should not have to worry about vandalism here in Mayberry. I don't know how far Granbury is from where you live. The 2 hour cruise is basically in the local Granbury/ Glen Rose area. I can find out more from Keith Sauls if you like.
Car shows in the N Texas area are plentiful and a lot of fun. I can give you a couple of websites to monitor if you want to browse the lists depending on where you live.

I just completed my application and put it in the envelope with the check. If you have not made your reservation, you better do it. The Best Western and Holiday Inn Express are booked. All the discount rooms at the Hilton are booked. I booked into the La Quinta which looks pretty nice with good reviews and a good rate. I understand the Plantation Inn is older but still pretty nice and the rate is very good. This will be my longest trip so far in the 54. I am looking forward to putting lots of names with cars and faces. Granbury is a really neat town and I can't think of a better place to have a car show.

OK, we are getting close, the show is next weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Besides the previous respondents, anyone else? You do not need to be a member of OCA to attend, looks like the weather will be great, and the facility itself appears to be first class in a great setting. Get those Rockets out, at least just on Saturday!!!
