Post 2009 Oldsmobile Nationals attendance

OK, finally sent out my paperwork and check today for the Nats. For those of you not in the know, here's the link. The deadline to submit your paperwork to show cars or attend the events is June 13th (postmarked).
http://www.alleghenyrockets.org/nationals.htm

In any event, thought it might be a good idea to start an attendance list of people here on the site who are definitely going. Just post and I'll keep updating the list. Would be cool for all of us to meet up on one of the days/evenings. Let's put our screen name, first name, and dates of attendance, if that's ok.

1. 68Tom (Tom), July 17 (AM)-July 18 (PM)
2. Redog (Kenny) July 18
3. Aron Nance (Aron & Juju), July 14 (PM)-July 19 (AM)
4. jensenracing77 (Eric), July 17-July 18
5. bigoldscruiser (Bruce & Sandy), July 15-July 19 (AM)
6. tva442 (Tom and family), July 16 (PM)-July 19 (AM)
7. yellowstatue, July 16-?
8. rocketraider, July 14 (PM)-July 18 (AM)
9. wmachine (Kurt & Ellen), July 15-July 18
10. ent72olds(Erik, Kelly, Grace & Gia) July15(PM)-July18(AM)-driving '65 Vista Cruiser
11. car_designer (Paul) July 15-19 (AM) in my Delta 88.
12. jeffreyalman

most likely: Run to Rund, Olsdmaniac

Hope to see some of you there.

3. Aron & Juju Nance w/our '92 Custom Cruiser. We arrive on Tuesday evening, and leave Sunday AM for our tour back down the east coast, after visiting Virginia plantations. Hope to see all of the neat people I keep reading on Classic Oldsmobile!

I am registered and will go to OCA nationals and York Reunion (the weekend before OCA) unless diesel fuel doubles in price like last year. It matters when the round trip will be about 4420 miles.

Dang- I need to send in my mess too. I'd held off because of the gall bladder mess and not being sure if I'd be able to make the trip.

Plans are arrive Wednesday, leave Saturday morning. I'll be on the gray wagon or a rental car.

Haven't decided whether I'm judging this year or not; I'm beginning to have some issues with the OCA judging process. If I do, preference is 60s-70s big cars.

*edit- put the check in the mail this morning 6/13 and watched the post office clerk stamp the postmark. I normally don't like waiting till last minute for these things as I was heavily involved in one myself, and the last minute registrations were a headache, but sometimes you do what you must. I still don't know if I'm bringing the wagon or renting a car. The wagon will make the trip easily but it can be "thirsty" running A/C.

Rockettrader: You may or may not know that you will get your lowest reading on your A/C unit with it set on Maximum cooling, at the lowest speed. Just FYI. And yes, I have the gauges in my A/C ducts on all the Oldsmobile's...........lol.

my recirc door is wired shut, so I get recirc on all speeds (my year was only recirc on high, fixed that on all 3 cars)

The gray wagon was converted to 134a several years ago and will blow 38 degrees at the duct on the road on a 90 degree day. Stuck in traffic is a different story. It is also a Tempmatic car and more than once I've had to move the temp lever off 65 because it simply got too cold in the car. Now if they could just figure a way to make those radial compressors run quieter- every reman I've ever had was noisy, no matter who rebuilt it. I hope it will last for the trip to Seven Springs.

The 1976 Ninety Eight will do the same thing though its Tempmatic is still running R12.

All 3 of mine have been converted to 134A, and also, thanks to Joe Coyle's impecible record keeping, I learned a very valuable lesson regarding the (hated) VIR system. Had all 3 eliminated and now compressors cycle instead of depending on the V in the VIR to move. When it gets stuck, the front seal of the compressor blows out. Joe replaced 11 compressors in 30 years. I replaced 2 in the Toronado in 6 months, then got the VIR eliminator. I get 38 degrees at the vents too. Brrr.

Only two weeks to the Nationals and no chatter on here? I will be going as a spectator with my son (Ross and Mark).

Sadly, it's not not looking good for me. My car wasn't finished when I went back to AZ to pick it up (not even close, actually), and the added expense of renting a car in NYC kind of makes it unfeasible for me at the moment.

We'll see if a viable option opens up.

OLDS68 will be there with my red Ram-Rod arriving Tuesday evening and leaving early Sunday. Look for us at the NEOC table advertising, answering questions, and handing out brochures and pamphlets for the 2010 Nationals in Sturbridge Ma. We will have about 15 of our members in attendance. Looking forward to meeting many of you in face and not cyberspace.
