200 4r Donors

I'm going to be looking at getting a 2004r Transmission down the road for my 72' Cutlass. I found a site that listed "donor" cars that would have the 200 4r in them. Does this look right...

· 1981-'90 Cadillac Fleetwood, de Ville and Brougham
· 1981-'88 Buick LeSabre, Electra RWD, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Malibu and El Camino
· 1982-'90 Chevrolet Impala, Caprice, Olds Delta 88, 98 and Custom Cruiser
· 1984-'87 GMC Caballero and Pontiac Grand Prix
· 1983-'88 Olds Cutlass 442 and Supreme
· 1983-'89 Pontiac Bonneville, Parisienne and Safari Wagon
· 1981-'87 Buick Regal
· 1981 Buick Century and Pontiac Firebird with 301
The site I got it from is below.

Thanks.

Thanks.
i am at the local wrecking yards quite a bit... atleast once a week. i would say that your list looks pretty accurate to me. here in CA most of the G-Body's are pretty stripped down. i've seen quite a few 2004r's in 80's cadillacs though. you might look at those first. if you can find one in a Buick Grand National, Hurst Olds, 442 or Monte SS GRAB IT! here are some ID codes for them...

Buick T-Type & GN = BQ & BR.
SS Monte = CQ & CZ.
Olds 442/HO = OZ & KZ.
Pontiac TTA = TA.

good luck

The newer the better GM made constant upgrades over the years to those 2004r's. If you watch ebay you see a real good GN core go through every now and then.

I finally found a rebuildable BR code from
a 87 Grand Nat. I had a bug for one several
years ago for the 69 442. Hard to find but
they are out there. The hunt is half the fun.
I think I gave $125 for it over in Austin.
