2 barrel to 4 barrel rochester conversion on olds 350

Hey back with another update everything has been going smooth now she starts and idles fine the only issue is at idle when I push the throttle lever it dies out or just has a dead spot where all I hear is air being sucked in. I am thinking it is just a timing issue but it could be something else I switched the jets from #70 to #71 size because I thought it was just running lean but the same problem is still there, anyone who has done this swap what did you do?

yes, it is a stock quadrajet from a 455 from summit racing which said it fit the 350 as well, and I swapped the intake manifold to fit.

Try adding more tension to the Secondary Air Valve. 1/8 to 1/4 revolution clockwise could help.

Did you get your electric choke hooked up and adjusted properly ?I wouldn’t mess with the timing until you get the carb working correctly .as stated above check to make sure your secondaries aren’t trying to open too soon .

Have you checked for a vacuum leak?

Unfortunately reman Qjet's can be a whole can of worms, some just never run right.

I’m thinking this could be the issue since it will stay running before the secondaries open and that’s when it gets starved for fuel.

I also when getting the carb apart again found a screw that looks like this that I must have forgotten to put back in, I forgot to mark it with a tag like I usually do, does anyone know the proper location of it?

Over the check ball for the accelerator pump. This is likely the cause of a hesitation.

Yep, the check ball retaining screw. The accelerator pump won't work properly without it.
