1980 lemans

Hello all, I'm seriously thinking about buying a 1980 Pontiac lemans 2 door coupe. Clean body(rare in Chicago) , poncho 301, decent interior, and missing transmission as current owner took it out with the intention of rebuilding it but never got around to it. I see this as a golden opportunity to buy a second g body for cheap as I know I can put a new trans in in about two hours and I know a shop selling a rebuilt 200r4 for 400$ . Now what I'm asking is are there any issues I should know about with these cars before I go and spend my tax refund on it and a transmission? Issues with the Pontiac 301? Not looking for a race car, that's what my 442 is for

I like the 80 Lemans, nice looking car, I had a 301 in a 81 trans-am back in the day not powerful but a decent runner. It would be a keeper for me if it was cheap.
