Two questions:

1, are the parts for the door locks and handles interchangeable between all late 1970's Oldsmobiles? I tried to pull the button on the passenger door and the whole thing came out, although it unlocked the door. Now you can lock it using the key, but you need a slim jim to unlock it. Has anyone else done similar repairs and have any advice?

2, how tough is it to put different seats into one of these cars? I'm looking to do a bench to buckets conversion with seats taken out of another car. I'm thinking something like a Miata or a Cavalier, but I haven't checked what's available yet. One of them has to fold down to allow access to the back seat.

I'm going to the junkyard with my dad today to get a new door handle for another car, and I'm curious if I can get two birds with one stone on this trip.
