1974 Cutlass (Should I Buy)

I have an option to buy a 1974 Cutlass. It's a complete car and in fairly decent shape except for the rust under the vinyl top. Straight body panels, complete engine and brackets, complete interior, etc. I am think about buying it and parting it out. Is there any real demand for used parts for these cars right now?

From what I've seen yes. But you'll need to sit on the parts longer than if they were 64-72. I'm seeing more interest in the 73-77 cars but there's not as many people restoring them. Have you checked out the 73-77 site? I've not been on there for years, but you might check there to see how active the parts sales are. John

I bought a 76 with the same issue, as well as the common rotten rear bumper. I only paid $50, got a good 350, 3 15" SS3? rims, someone took the other two and made about $200 clear on interior parts. If you can get it cheap, go for it.
