Without original documentation you're in big trouble with this car. Not enough pics or info but i'm already leaning towards it being originally a Cutlass without the "442" option. The trunk lid and "possibly" the hood is/are from a '71 Cutlass. Grilles and 442 emblems are there but could've always been added later. Get under the rear of the car and see if a sway bar exists.

the car is about 45 miles away from me i will be in there this weekend if the wife will let me (yeah i know. lol) then i will swing in to look at it. i notice the trunck having the 71 ss on it, it having no rear view mirror so i cant see if its black has no mirrors?sport mirrors, and has no cut-out in the rear bumper. could the 72 442 be ordered in bench seat?

442 was an option code in 1972 so it is as real as it needs to be. Check the vin to see if it is a 455 car as the engine color is for the big block. Was not originally a 442 unless the decklid was changed because of the moulding. Original 455 cars are of the best value on this model.

Its says its a 350. so i dont think its a big block car.

Did all 72 442s have cut out rear bumpers? or only the 455 ones?

IMO on a '72 small block car it being a real 442 or a clone is no big deal since it was only an appearance package. JMO.
