1972 Cutlass Sport Coupe

I bought this at the end of May, but only got it out for the first time this week, and to the first cruise night with it, last night.

It is a 1972 Cutlass S Sport Coupe. Originally 350 2bbl. The 2bbl was literally broken. So I replaced the intake with a performer, and the 2bbl with a quadrajet. It was the first time I did an intake or carb swap.

The rims were originally green, but repainted them argent.

Guess how much time I spent in the swap area at the OCA Nationals. And I found out an a-body dash will fit in the trunk of the Delta.

It isn't pretty, but it is a southern car, and has no rust. Which to a Canadian, is REALLY important. It will need paint and interior.

If this is in the wrong forum, let me know. I wasn't sure if I should put it here, or in the Cutlass forum.

Thanks for "Post"ing your Post.
It brings back a lot of memories. My first car was a '72 Cutlass Sports Coupe with 350 2 bbl, except mine was green with plenty of rust and dents. It was a great car and ran forever. I predict you will grow very fond of yours.

I try to make it every week. Do you make it out often, if so, with what car? I know I haven't seen the Olds.

I have a vision for how I want the car when finished, but it will take a while to get there.

Congrats on the nice ride. It looks very good even though it needs paint. At least you can go out and enjoy it without worrying that someone is going to scratch it.

My Cutlass convertible is not ready for the road this year - just brought it home from a barn in Kemptville. I am close to the Race Track show on Wed. Looking to have the car ready to drive in the spring. Trans needs to be rebuilt, and needs a new top- and a few other things for the road. Yours looks in good shape - do you have a lot to do?
What are your plans for the red Rocket?

Nice post coupe, I have a 70 post coupe also. Don't see too many. Like you I was lucky enough to find a rust free southern car and bought it on the spot, It had an OK paint job which was re done after a few years. Have you shecked the trunk area for leaks? double lucky if it doesn't have any.
