1972 Cutlass production/build date?

How can you find out the production/build date for a 1972 cutlass? I looked at the window sticker and see nothing on there that I understand to be that date. Mine was built in Arlington, Texas and sold new at Isaacs Olds-Cadillac in Palestine, Texas!

Also looking for selling dealer items but come up blank on that too!

Thanks for any info,
OLE442

There's a production date on the cowl tag.

The date code has two digits and a letter. On this example it's "12C" which signifies built the third week (C) of December (12), 1971. Don't be surprised if it's partly obscured by the rivet.

Joe:

In that same spot, mine shows: 05A0246.....so would that be the 1st week (A) of May (05) and the year 1972?

Also, supposed to be a blue sticker in the driver door jamb with the VIN and build date (perhaps just month and year, without looking..)

In "05A0246", 05 is May, A is the first week, 0246 is the "schedule number", which was used by the plant to sequence the bodies. Each plant did that a little different and most didn't put that number on the cowl tag.
My 1971 Cutlass is from Arlington and is "05A602".
That number is in Box 10 of the build sheet.

Yes, my blue sticker on the drivers door says 05/72 confining the month and year produced!

It’s weird that I have not yet run into a build sheet! There is a paper between the springs and padding in one of the rear seat cushions?? It looks kinda bad an I can’t see what it is but, if I replace all the seat covers, I’ll remove it then and see! The drivers seat is the only bad original and I hope to save it somehow!
