Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I have a 1971 oldsmobile cultlass supreme that I'm swapping out a 350 for a 455. The card has AC and Disc brakes. The 455 came with long hooker headers but they don't fit. What style headers will fit in my setup? Shorties? Block huggers? I'm a noob so any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Any header designed for a 68 - 72 A body will fit. Some better than others. Please disregard any comments saying they won't fit Cutlass Supreme cars. What issues are you having with the hookers?

 

Which Hooker headers? Unlike what you may read, any headers that fit a 442 of the same year will fit your Supreme. And when you swap the motor, do not use the so-called "455 motor mounts" unless you change the frame pads. If you keep the original frame pads, use Anchor 2261 motor mounts with the 455.

 

Need more clarification on “they don’t fit”. Look for a plate with a number and post that as there is a difference between big block and small block headers.
