According to numbers provided by Helen Early and reproduced at Wild About Cars, in the 1971 model year there were 113 Cutlass S Sport Coupes with the I6 motor (33577... VIN) and 4,399 with the V8 (33677... VIN). Contrast this to 63,145 Cutlass S holiday coupes with V8 that year. Of course, the "rarity" is because the sport coupes were unpopular loss leader cars when they were new. Hardtops were the top sellers. One can argue whether or not being unpopular then makes them "valuable" now.

The info I have shows the 3577 Sport Coupe with a production of 4,452.

The info below was faxed to me back in 2002 and it looks as if the bottom of the page is cut off and it's missing some info for the 442 models. The info source is Castle books "Cars of Oldsmobile".

1971 Cutlass Production Numbers
3169 Town Sedan: 769
3635 Cutlass Wagon: 6,787
Vista Cruiser: 20,566
3669 Cutlass Town Sedan: 32,522
3287 Cutlass Holiday Coupe: 33,623
3687 Cutlass S Holiday Coupe: 63,145
3577 Cutlass S post coupe: 4,452
4239 Cutlass Supreme 4 door hardtop: 10,458
4257 Cutlass Supreme Holiday Coupe: 60,599
4267 Cutlass Supreme convertible: 10,255
4467 442 convertible: 1,304
4487 442 Holiday Coupe: 6,285

Your list doesn't even include the 3677 cars, so your data is suspect. I gave you the link to my source material.

Just passing along what I have. It's the info I got when I asked how many Cutlass Supreme convertibles were produced in 1971.

If it's an L6 with three on the three, it's probably one of 13-ish.

Not popular, not valuable, but kind of perversely cool!
