1970 W-31 Authentication

just wanted you guys to know. Been working on this for a while.

The window sticker was not part of the documentation for that car when I was working on it. This car was the first 1970 W-31 I authenticated and is part of my extensive 1970 W-31 regesrty. Other 1970 W-31's also exhist on my Regesrty list. If you know anybody that needs thier 1970 W-31 authenticated let me know. I would be happy to do it and. I have a library full of photos, paperwork that i have seen firsthand and use dedicated 1970 W-31's.

This is somthing I always was serious about and wanted to do. I have been getting overwhelming support from some well know Oldsmobile enthusists and life long Oldsmobile friends. This is no joke when authenticating these cars. I have been preparing for this for a long time. Thought this would be a good time to let the cat out of the bag.

I wonder why my log in doesn't work anymore at ROP (since their 'resurrection')?

I know the car in question pretty well and it is ABSOLUTELY the real thing. A good friend of mine owned it and started the restoration and midway through traded for a '69 W-31 and some $$$$$. I can't say about the window sticker or the wheels (I seriously doubt if my buddy would have deviated from original and put what appears to be 15" wheels and tires on it). I DO know the drivetrain is 100% authentic and the paint work is perfect. The suspension is also absolutely original items (no aftermarket replacements), and I'd be willing to bet the name on the Maryland paperwork is that of my close friend. And... I also know Steve Minore came from Connecticut to help make the trade on the cars and authenticate the '70 W-31 discussed above. Steve finished some of the restoration and is regarded as the "GO-TO-GUY" on W-31s. He is a wealth of knowledge and has taken the time to photograph unique items on original cars and document his findings.

@Stickw31, do you keep a VIN database of confirmed W-31s?

I apologize if this is not the correct place for this question, but I did have a question about this car... I thought if you ordered the 3.91 gear ratio it automatically came with the M-21? Why would you put a M-20, with the low 1st gear, with a 3.91? I didn't think the Factory would do this?
