1970 Toronado GT Hemmings

We'll see if Markowski brings this car up to the same "AACA standards" as he did that red '66.
The first time I saw that one wearing its AACA Senior badge I realised whoever certified that car's Senior didn't know a damned thing about Toronados. Yet that car is held up as the standard for 1966 Toronado restoration.

In about 1980 I bought a Toronado GT off the street in front of a friends house in the little town of Bosque Farms (south of Albuquerque) It was owned by a schoolteacher who worked in the school there. It was white with a blue vinyl top and blue interior. It ran great. I drove it part time for a couple of years then, believe it or not, traded it to a guy in southern New Mexico for a Galleon Gold 70 442 W30. The Toronado GT wound up being exported to Sweden and the W30 wound up being stolen - never to be seen again.

back in the mid 80's a buddy of mine bought one from a guy that ran a gas station,he bought it on thursday we took it to a party friday night and on the way home at 2 in the morning the beer evidently made him think he was mario andretti,AND it also affected short term memory as he forgot it was front wheel drive, he took a corner on a gravel road and he punched the gas hoping for some fishtailing.that thing went in the ditch so fast he was working that wheel like a spider monkey, came to a field driveway and i told him go for where the ditch meets driveway and we pop right back up on the road.AND he punches it again and we go right back in the ditch.then BAM and cars on it's side bob seger blaring on the 8 track and we are all laying in a heap on the pass door.took all 3 of us to get that drivers door open, man they are heavy.turns out we hit a big culvert.anyway he sold it to me saturday.i pulled the engine and still have it. added an offy with 2 afb's.still searching for that A body that needs an engine.
