Like all old cars be wary of rot in trunk around front and back glass, lower quarters and fenders, floors etc. Also the front CV joints are covered by rubber boots. If they get ripped or crack dirt and water get in and wear the cv joint out. Check those boots. Good Luck.

Cool cars. If it has a vinyl top check the top windshield channel for evidence of rot. There seems to be little demand for clunker condition early Toros. But the fully restored ones go for a premium. What's your goals if you get it? Make a driver? Part it out? if the price is right and it does turn out to have too much rot you can sell the drivetrain and option parts pretty easy. Many of these cars came with lots of options.

Back to your comment on parts. For the Toronado specific parts there's not a lot of reproduction stuff out there. They do share some parts with the front wheel drive Cadillac Eldorado. But due to the caddy name those items aren't cheap.
