1970 olds cutlass

I am looking for a scrap 1970 olds cutlass,to use the ID plate and dash serial number. I have a 1972 oldsmobile Cutlass,I am turning into a 1970. I have a title for the 1972, but would like to title it as a 1970. If anyone has a title and vin plate or a scrap 1970 please let me know.

Thanks Mike

I believe what you are trying to accomplish is against the law. You should ask your local DMV.

I've been thinking all morning, and cannot solve this. What is one, single, solitary, good reason for doing this?

So tell us you're trying to re-title a stolen car without telling us you're trying to re-title a stolen car. That will be the first thought of anyone you run this passed. As others have said, not only is this stupid, but highly illegal. Fake a 70 (for whatever reason) but leave the VIN and title alone.

What you want to do is illegal as hell, on both state and federal levels. You're asking to get arrested and pull time.

As stated, just leave the 72 VIN on the car. No reason to chage to 70 title. I totally get wanting a 70 but only having a 72 to work with. The holiday coupe in my build thread below started out as a 72. I like 71's better so I built it as a 71. Still has the 72 350 2 barrel cutlass S VIN on it though. Also, probably not the best idea to publish address under your location. Might just want to leave your location as NY.

Angry Changing the vin number is 100% illegal and also misleading

If you really want to do this, apply for an assembler's title then you can call it whatever you want " 1970 Olds Cutlass 442 replica " or call it Sally if you want. But to forge documents will result in a law suit and possible jail time if you ever try to sell it or misrepresent it in any manner.

With all the help from everyone. I see that this was a very bad Idea, not only from the legal side but for the future of the car. I want to thank everyone for there input. The car is almost done and it "will be" registered as the car was built,1972.

Thanks again

Mike
