1970 Cutlass SX convertible
Does anyone know anything material to the 1970 SX convertible, highly optioned, advertised on ebay? The seller has a 20K buy price. Trim tag shows original color 28A. Seller disclosed he has the original transmission and the engine is a 1972 long block with "G" heads. Further stated E heads are for sale additionally. Seller has owned car for ten years and describes the car as a very nice driver with a great color combination. Seller describes little rust if car is to be repainted on the lower quarter panels and doors.
Any help will be appreciated. I think the car sells tomorrow around this time.
Thank you,
Twilightblue28A

It would help if you provided the link.
Check out this thread and see if it's the same car:

Cutlass SX
If it is the same car mentioned above...
Wrong hood and the "SX" badges not in proper location. This means that the fenders have probably been replaced along with the hood. This is a good indication of a significant front end collision. I would ask about this for sure.
Also, a New Jersey built car living in Chicago. Likely much more rust than meets the eye.
Hole in bumper below license plate..indicates it probably had a trailer hitch. Transmission issues?
Reproduction door panels need replacing.
A/C is not working. (needs to be converted and checked!?!)
Non-original engine and trans. No guarantee it is an SX.
"Desirable" power door locks? on a convertible? is that really a desirable option?
Look how dried up and brittle the weatherstrip is in the trunk..and the engine compartment rubber too.
Truly a beautiful color combination and the dual gate and cruise are very nice options.
It's currently almost $15k. I think one could do a lot better for the money. (see the recent sale of the Green 71 Cutlass convertible 4-speed for around $15k)
If you can't see it in person, I would not take that risk.
...just my opinion
