1970 cutlass factory options !

I've got a 1967 425 with the same rare prototype! Well, this one is mounted in a slightly different location. This engine spent part of its life in the backseat of a Corvair. I blamed him for this modification.

Ford did it cuz the oil pump was in the front of the engine and the pan had a rear sump and needed a semi sump area to fit the pump. If you didn't have two drains you'd not be able to totally drain the oil

I know how that front "drain plug" got there. The crossmember is a perfect ramp for a floor jack to slide up and hit the oil pan if not properly centered. I had a 67 442 with two drain plugs after that mistake happened. Only mine didn't seal!
