1969 442 door panels

Is there anyone that knows the particulars of putting on the door panels. This is a convertible and I inherited it with the door panels off the car. I don't know what needs to go on to make the door panel assembly proper.

Door Panels

If it is just the panels, you can buy complete panels. I like Legendary. Some of the aftermarket top rail are plastic, I would only buy the metal ones. You may also need arm rests, and, the clips and screws, to install them. May be other small things missing? Get a GM assembly manual, and it will help you also.

Door panels

These are the original door panels. The problem I'm having is they were pulled off years ago, not by me, and I'm not quite sure what hardware went were. I don't know if there are springs involved behind the window cranks or not. I think I have all the pieces but I have to hunt through many boxes to locate them if they exist. Thanks for getting back to me. I have the chassis manual but naturally it isn't for the interior. Again, thanks for your reply. Sincerely, Jack.

Here's an installation video for A-body. Around 13:26, you can see the brackets the panel hangs on. Then you need the clips on the sides and screws at the bottom. The springs? They were there, but newer panels are thinner. Sometimes you don't need to use them on new panels. This is a rebuild, but should help.

Excellent thread, just what I was looking for
thanks to MROLDS69 for posting the link for the video.

Does anyone have an illustration of the door panel parts?
I'm specifically interested in the small stuff,

door handle washers
window crank springs & foam washers

is there anything else I'm missing?

for my 69 442 convertible

Get ahold of Hairy Olds(paul) on this site, he sells the best factory Assembly Manual for the A-body cars. It has exploded views of all the cars systems and how they go together, with part numbers. You could also get a copy of the Parts Illustration Manual, it also should have the exploded view with part names and numbers

Hairy Olds has several posts in the Miscellaneous Classified section of this site, to help you contact him easier
