1969 442 air cleaner assy with silk screen PT numbers?

Hello everyone,
There was some unverified information on an older post that some early 69 442 air cleaners had the part number silk screened. Can anyone tell me if the attached pictures are infact a 69 442 air cleaner. The wording on the lid is not a decal but infact is a metal glue on emblem. I realize the lid might not be original to the housing. as you can see from the pictures the housing has been painted and they masked off the silk screen. your thoughs on what I have would be helpful.

Not to confuse your search for the proper air cleaner I am posting a picture of my 66 Cutlass air cleaner only to illustrate what a " silk screened " part number looks like. I doubt that item you posted is a correct legit item. I don't know of any one producing the silk screens to properly restore or repair a correct air cleaner. I wish someone would.

Looks like a 69 442 air cleaner to me, someone just didn’t want to cover up the original silkscreen. The emblem on the lid wouldn’t be metal on the 69. Just a decal and it would say 442, not 400.

I thought there was someone one this site that was making the correct white letter style decals for the '69 & older air cleaners. Although not silk screened they had a clear backing that you peeled off leaving the rest behind. They looked very nice. I think he wanted $50 for them but I couldn't find the post???? Your lid has the wrong insert on it, that's a '68 only style that would be for a vista with a 400. '69 442s had a "half" paper/foil decal that said 442 not rocket 400

That looks to be a 68 base by the strap over the vac pot.

It's not a '68 base, it's a correct '69 base. '68s were 1 year only they had the flapper valve closer the the air cleaner body not out at the end of the snorkel, My air cleaner has a repop vac valve(from Fusick) on it, The strap that holds it has the "AC" stamping on it, my original strap was plain.
