1968 442 AM/FM radio

After a year and a half of stalking the internet, just scored an original working, and very nice AM/FM radio for my ‘68 442. Just needs some black paint touching up. Now have to debate to run the factory rear speaker 10 ohm setup, or keep the stealth modern sound system for cruising. Those Magnafows do sound good too....

I want to find an awesome stock rebuilder for mostly internals, some cosmetic, for multiple radios.

I have a guy in KC...his name is Fred..reasonably priced and reliable..but he has no personality..just saying, you just cant bullsh!t with him like most car guys..hes an old guy too..he is terminally crabby too

has a basement full of NOS parts...but wont sell any unless he repairs/ services your radio

he does radios for all the chevelle guys etc...done some for me with out standing results..very honest to..if he cant fix it.he will tell you

i know a guy in Pontoon Beach Illinois too..but been so long, Jim something..he did prob 75 radios for me in the past, i used to hustle radios pretty hard..

maybe he moved..i originally found him in Hemmings..cant find him now..he may have passed

S & M Electro-Tech in Blaine, MN (north side of Minneapolis) upgrades internals to modern high-power units, sells upgraded retro-fit speakers, and provides other services. I haven't had them convert mine yet, but will when it's time. I've heard nothing but good things about them and they support our Olds Club of Minnesota. Their website is very descriptive and includes prices.
