1967 Cutlass AM FM Radio Service

I just purchased an untested am/fm radio for my 67 cutlass....is there any harm in me testing it or should I just send it off to be serviced....I am located in Ohio. Who should I have perform this service? What cost can I expect?

Thanks,
Scott

I'd test it first, all you need is power, antenna, and a speaker.

Use a fused hot line so you don't burn it up if there's a short.

Make sure you have a 10 OHM speaker when you test it .
You can burn up the amplifier with a common 4 OHM speaker .
