1967 coil wiring
1967 coil wiring
It been a few years .. coming down to home stretch .. question is have a black and yellow wire that should go to coil? just not sure where ..think yellow goes to positive not sure about black . Did remove points and upgrade to magnetic pick up .
The black wire isn't original, so without knowing what its other end is connected to it is not possible to say conclusively, but if it has +12V when the ignition is on, then it is most likely that both wires connect to the coil (+).
As Eric says, figure out what they're connected to and follow the aftermarket manufacturer's instructions.

None of that looks factory. There is a yellow wire that comes from the starter and goes to the coil. It is yellow with a black stripe. This wire feeds 12 volts not 9 volts to the coil during starter operation to assist with starting. There is a black wire that goes from the coil to the distributor to power the points. There is also a double wire with one connector that is the run wire for the car. This has built in resistance to lower the voltage.
I will attach a picture of a coil on one in my yard.
Hope this helps
