1967 belmont
1967 belmont
I just bought a 1967 belmont 425 four door it still has the original engine I was told. How can I check that and what type of engine this car has.Engine casting number is 399244D,on the right cylinder head it has R027607, i found 1974w39 stamp on the cowl can somebody help me
Well, that's certainly a 425. If the car still has the protect-o-plate with the owner's manual, the engine number on it should match that number from the cyl head.
Post up your cowl tag info and we'll see what else it says.
By the way, it's a Delmont 88.

Can I build this car with a cam with the specs of maybe the 442 455.It doesnt have any manuals or plate.I was doing some reading and found this engine is a high compression,10.25 to 1it has a four barrel carb.it supposed to have 360 hp and 470 torque.Do you know what the 442 had
Yeah - get out and look at the script on the side
R 027607, with no letter after it, corresponds to the 26,607th 425 made in 1967, equipped with 10.25:1 compression and a 4 barrel carburetor, rated at 365 gross HP / 470 foot pounds torque. It was the standard 98 engine, and optional on the other full-size lines.
