Nice read about a 1966 Road test from Car and Driver. GM and Ford entries. Olds did well.

And yet, even in 1966, CD thinks the 442 was introduced in 1965...

Trip, Good article and yes Joe what happened to the 64 442's. When going throught it I spotted this: "Thanks to a minor relocation of the upper control arms on the entire 1966 F-85 line, Oldsmobile has come up with the best-mannered car of the six."
Does any one know what was changed? I had a 66 Shelby 350 and Shelby moved the upper control arm mount point 1" up on the Mustangs he built. Is this the same sort of modification?

Raising the rear or lowering the front of the UCA will effect the instant center but that is more of a straight line drag race mod. I've not known it to help handling.
I saw that blurb also. Now I'm wondering if it is a correct statement and what exactly was done if anything?

Well I'm reaching back, I owned the Shelby from1974 to 79 along with a myriad of other Mustangs. I made the alteration to one or two of those cars and yes without a doubt it helped them get down the road, there were also changes to the camber and toe in . At the time I knew all the specs. but now? What I'd like to know is what was done to the F-85?? I'm only guessing that the change was similar to what Shelby did and yes what he did drops the center of gravity and it helped.
