1966 442 headers for big block

Looking for quality headers that fit without an anvil & ball peen hammer. Called Dick Miller they didn't offer stainless said they don't work ??? Does anybody have any suggestions. Is ceramic equivalent to stainless?

I had bad luck with headers for my '66, it came with Black Jack headers and they hit the right control arm. Bought Hedman and they hit the steering shaft. I threw in the towel and found a set of W/Z manifolds in the junkyard, no problems since.

These guys made the headers for my 67 4spd in the early 70's and they're still around. Give them a call. They're about 3 miles from me.

I have had alot of 442s over the years and many many headers and many pains in the behind but I have never had one problem with Hooker headers in fact they fit on every car I bought them for with no problems and they lasted. my 2cents worth.

I use Headers by Ed (no longer made) so don't have direct experience with American Racing Headers. I have heard good things about them, however, and they make stainless ones.

Thanks for all the input guys. Why was Dick Miller running down the stainless headers? I'll be using Edelbrock heads.

Check out my album here. I have Hookers on the 455 in my '67. We had to ding the tubes around the steering shaft and relocate the brake block but other than that they have been a good fit.

check doug thorleys and contact them by phone. i had a set but out grew them and i needed a bigger set for proper flow. I now have hookers i had to ding the drivers side on a 71 supreme oh so slightly by the control arm bolt but the tube over the frame needs yearly attention do to rust issues, otherwise even with 235 60,s i have no clearance problems. I loved the thorleys 1 and 3 quarters but they would have costed me about 65 at the wheels even with open pipes. by the way the hookers needed slight tube lifting and the thorleys none or even the block. call thorley.
