1965 Starfire

Does anyone have the production numbers for 1965 Starfires coupe/convertibles with factory 4 speed manuals ? Just curious.

We had a thread on that a few years back. Kurt Shubert (w-machines) had some pretty accurate figures and he owns a 4-speed 65 Jetstar I. I can't remember the numbers offhand but they are low, like in 3-digits.

At one time it was believed only one convertible was built but now at least four survivors are known.

Very kool car - stick or auto. Convertible numbers in the single digits ? That’s amazing.

No, FOUR SPEED numbers in the single digits. There were 2236 Starfire convertibles of both transmission types sold in the 1965 model year.

Thanks Raider and Joe. I wonder if the manual was mentioned in the sales brochure. I would guess ...and it’s only a guess that it was not. I saw a nice original automatic convertible sell at Mecum Kissimmee this past January - I think it sold for big money but I don’t remember. Beautiful car. Was the car being marketed as a personal luxury vehicle back in ‘65 ?
