1962 Ninety-Eight
What do you think, folks? Should I? Is there anything special a guy should look for on a '62? I'm a 62 model, too. So, these have always been kind of a favorite. (though I prefer the Holiday)

I had a 63 holiday(I should say it was the family car) and loved everything but the transmission. We could not get it to shift correctly and either could any shop or dealership. Those memories alone have kept me from considering anything with a Slim Jim transmission. Other than that it's a beautiful car...Tedd

Slim Jims can be a concern, but even if they act like they're not shifting right, they're probably OK. Just have a real wide gear drop across the first shift.
On an upper midwest car like that, check closely for rust. Front and especially rear bumpers are very susceptible to it.
Some of the trim crosses with the Starfire meaning it can be $$$ if you need to replace it.
That looks like a pretty nice car though. Good color. It's a Ninety Eight Town Sedan, which was the entry-level Ninety Eight.

The advice on rust is critical. Do pay special attention to the lower portion of the quarter panels, rear wheel wells. Do not even consider this purchase without first laying eyes and hands on the car. Be sure to put it on a lift and inspect the underside, particularly the ball joints.
