1960's style wire ties

I seem to remember "wire ties" and cable management in old cars being handled by flat metal "slot and tongue" straps. You'd wrap them around the cables, stick the tongue through the slot and bend it back. Sometimes (as I recall anyway) they might be coated, vinyl or rubber. Does anyone have a source for these style cable ties? I could just use plastic wire ties for the job, but it sure would be cool if I could find straps that look like the originals. I want to secure my under hood wiring harness and positive battery cable to the channel on the left front fender, and there's a series of little slots in the fender for these old style straps. Maybe someone knows what the original straps looked like, but I'm thinking they're like I described.
