1956 Starfire convertiable Craigslist

Doubtful this one will get full asking price with its restoration age and the fact that the market has not rebounded as yet from the rescission. Not mine Tedd..... http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4829234061.html

I like this comment in his ad:

"this outstanding example is one of only a few hundred remaining"

First of all, how could he possibly know how many are remaining? One can make an educated guess, but there is no central database keeping track of these, is there?

Second, total production of '56 Starfire convertibles was 8,581. Normal scrappage rages would suggest fewer than 100 remaining today. However, these are very desirable and were probably kept in greater numbers than the typical car, so his claim of a few hundred remaining is probably not far off the mark after all. It's just that, if he's going to state it so definitively, he ought to have some source for the claim.

Nice ride. Like the color-coded brake-pedal hinge.

Very nice car but I don't think it will come close to bringing the asking price. I wish it would be I don't think so. It is interesting to note he mentions the car has manual steering (which would really be unusual) but it has a power steering pump.
