what is the diffrence, between AM-FM Radios
The 1970 AM-FM stereo radio was a two piece unit, with the amp part situated above the glove box. In 71, they went to a one piece unit. The radios looked the same, and came wiith the "Stereo" light on the dial face. In 72 they offered the same radio as in 71, but also offered a lower cost AM-FM mono radio. It also looked the same, but obviously wouldn't broadcast in stereo. Physically, the mono radio only had heat sinks on the back, while the stereo radios had them on the side as well as the back. If not powered up, you can't tell the difference from the mono and the stereo radios with the exception of the heat sinks. All three years had the flip dial for AM and FM.
