Pls help ID 2-prong red/orange connector

Hi!

I found a 2-prong connector dangling around my steering column I cannot find a mate for. I also can't seem to find it on my A-Body wiring print out.

Everything electrical works, so it can't be very important - nevertheless I'm curious.

I can't say for sure, but those are the colors of the wires that normally supply the power window relay.

Ah, thanks.

My guess was clutch switch or power top - but I have no clutch and no power top. On the other hand I don't have power windows either. Looks factory installed to me, but the whole harness might have been swapped somewhen.

Maybe it speeds me up cranking the windows when I touch the plug to my tongue...

If your car had a th400 trans. that connector went to the electric down shift switch that would be mounted on your gas pedal. All cars came with that connector. Just tape it up out of the way.
