I have a 79 Old 350 & I need to tune my engine. Does anyone know the fast & curb idle speeds as well as the timing? Thanks.

Hi. According to my manual, vin "R" engines are 900 fast idle (park), slow idle, carb screw, 550 (dr). Timing is 20 BTDC @ 1100, with R46SZ plugs and 0.030 gap. For AC, selonoid setting is 650, (park). Hope this helps, Jim. If you have a different vin engine, let me know.

 

I am glad I didn't try to answer that from memory yesterday afternoon at work. I had the slow idle too fast by 150 rpm, the timing off by 8 degrees! I work too much with the older engines I guess.
