Help with electrical question for 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass
I am looking at diagram of front lighting to see if turn signal/ parking lights will come on when you pull dash light switch to the first position!
my rear lights come on but front parking lights do not ( turn signals work front and back) (bulbs are double filament) on the 1965 Cutlass should the front parking lights be on when rear tail lights are on with light switch pulled to first position?

There is a scematic in the CSM.
The '65 was wired so that the front parking lamps (and tail lamps) came on at the first pull switch position, then they go off when the headlamps are turned on in the second pull position.

I bought my first '65 before I had a driver's license. I always hated this about the car.
Does anyone know if a '67 switch be swapped with the '65?

Further, I think the change was in the wiring not the switch. If you do a quick search for a replacement switch you find that the same switch is used after the mandate was in place. You could just cut the wire to the front park lights and attach it to the wire that feed the tail lights. That would cause the front lights to be on whenever the tail lights are on.

You are correct Joe. I went to Rock auto and looked at the switches. Connector 7 is blank on the 68 switch (7 contacts) and is there on the 67 switch (8 contacts). So if all you do is substitute the 68 switch for the 67 switch (It looks like you could, the area for the plug looks the same on both switches) there would be nothing feeding the front park lights. The wiring would still need to be modified, if you modify the wiring either switch could be used.
