Reverse lights stay on

I'm fighting a couple of electrical gremlins with my 442 project. I will star two different threads so I can keep it straight.

The first one is my reverse lights are on all the time. Doesn't matter what gear, they stay on. All other lights seem to work correctly. Any thoughts on where to start?

Check your neutral safety switch/wiring. It is 2 switches in one with the other being the backup lights.

Is your back drive linkage hooked up? If not check the lever on the steering column that turns on the reverse lights.

Will check the switches today. The one in the column is functioning but the floor shifter is not in the cat yet so we just jumped that one.

The backdrive linkage is hooked up but since the floor shifter isn't hooked to the trans yet it might not be in park like I thought it was.
